The Midnight Club’s debut song, Knock Back, released in early 2016, has an addicting chorus, catchy synth line, and pleasing lyrics that all come together to make an incredible pop song. The fashionable alternative band out of Denver, Colorado, has proved to be a promising act through their creativity and maturity. Even though half of the band is fresh out of high school, they carry themselves like the best of professionals. Their song, Knock Back, is honestly one of the catchiest tunes in new alternative music. The Midnight Club shows high potential to be a great band through their three singles: Immortalized, Should’ve Held Me Tighter, and of course, Knock Back.
After gaining the attention of new fans with their three singles, exciting live shows, and creative aesthetic, The Midnight Club has changed a lot in the year that they’ve been around. Their first look was very simple, all members wore button down shirts with ties and they incorporated a 1920’s image to their aesthetic. A golden mask can be found on every person in the band’s music videos except for the members in the band. The band became more silly over time, using bright and fun colors to be all over their music videos and pictures on their socials. Owen Coleman, the frontman of the group, wore a hot-pink suit in the music video for their third single and most recent release, “Immortalized”. They started getting more comedic and experimental as soon as they had a pug shoot lasers out of it’s eyes in their music video for Immortalized. Now, fast forward to present day, The Midnight Club is looking as sharp as ever in their new and improved image. A more mature look is definitely what this band needed, and they definitely got it now. Rocking a blue and black color scheme with much more interesting outfits, these boys look like they’re ready to take the industry by storm!
A lot of time has past since their most recent release, but we can expect the band to be releasing a single in August of this year according to Owen Coleman, “We’ve taken a year off of dropping any new music because we wanted to develop our sound and image, and that takes a lot of time. We’re going to release a track in August that I’m stoked for, and I think it’s going to shock a lot of people in this scene.” Coleman also mentioned how the new sound compares to famous rock bands like Queen. “We are definitely trying to brand ourselves as a rock band now. We’re taking influence from Queen, The Beatles, etc.”
The Midnight Club is expecting to be at the top of the game very soon. With a new theatrical rock sound that the band says is “a huge step up” from their last trio of songs, you can bet these guys will be shocking the music world very soon!
