Memphis May Fire have released the video for the track “That’s Just Life” from last year’s This Light I Hold album. The clip’s message is that it’s okay to not be okay.
The black and white video intersperses shots of frontman Matty Mullins with fans holding up signs with messages such as “MS Took My Freedom,” “I Have Suicidal Thoughts Every Day,” “Society Says I’m Not Beautiful” and “Sometimes I Think I’ll Never Find Love.”
The video reflects the song’s lyrics: “I’d be lying if I said that I was fine because I feel pain sometimes that I cannot describe/So do I raise my fist and curse up at the sky or do I close my eyes and realize that’s just life?”
Memphis May Fire continue to tour in support of This Light I Hold. They have a show in Barcelona, Spain tomorrow night (May 26), followed by three Slam Dunk festival shows in Birmingham, Leeds and Hatfield, England. After a couple week break they’ll spend much of the summer on Warped Tour, which kicks off June 16 in Seattle. For all their dates, go here.
In a recent interview, Mullins talked about playing Warped again this year: “It’s such an honor to be back on Warped Tour for the fourth time. We believe it’s the best festival tour there is! Such an awesome opportunity to play for a diverse crowd and see all of our friends bands on a daily basis. Oh, and the catering rules!”
